Which Equipment Can Be Used In The Waste Treatment Process Of Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Nd-Fe-B?|Neodymium Iron Boron Waste Grinding Mill

Release date: 2022-04-11 11:36:48

Nd-Fe-B is an important rare earth permanent magnet material. About 30% waste is produced in the production process of sintered Nd-Fe-B. It contains about 30% of rare earth elements. The treatment and recovery of rare earth elements from Nd-Fe-B waste is of great significance. At present, the domestic Nd-Fe-B waste recycling mainly includes wet recycling process and fire process. Whether Nd-Fe-B waste grinding mill equipment is used in these two Nd-Fe-B waste treatment processes? Let's first learn about the Nd-Fe-B waste treatment process in detail.

The wet process of Nd-Fe-B waste treatment includes: 1 Hydrochloric acid total solution method; 2. Hydrochloric acid optimal solution method; 3. Double salt precipitation method; 4 . Natural oxidation pretreatment.

In addition to the natural oxidation pretreatment method in point 4, several other treatment processes are treated and recovered by chemical reagents through dissolution, precipitation, acid melting, reaction, extraction and separation, precipitation roasting and other steps. The common advantage of these treatment processes is that they have high recovery rate and can recover rare earth elements to a great extent, which is convenient for industrial production. The disadvantage is that the amount of chemical reagents used is huge, the recovery cost is high, and the pollution to the environment is large, which is contrary to the purpose of reducing environmental pollution. The natural oxidation pretreatment method produces natural oxidation by wetting with hydrochloric acid. This method has good effect on the pretreatment of Nd-Fe-B materials with low cost, but the pretreatment cycle is long.

Grinding equipment is not required in the above wet process of Nd-Fe-B waste treatment, but chemical treatment equipment is mainly used.

The pyrometallurgical process for Nd-Fe-B waste treatment includes:

1. Reduction method: the reduction method mainly uses water, hydrochloric acid and oxalic acid to reduce and extract rare earth elements; The iron alloy and rare earth oxide slag from Nd-Fe-B waste were recovered by direct reduction slag gold melting method in spring.

2. Direct reduction slag gold melting method: it is to mix Nd-Fe-B waste powder and iron concentrate powder in a certain proportion into the reaction tank, add reducing agent semi coke into it, and directly reduce it in the reaction tank;

3. Direct reuse: for Nd-Fe-B materials with large size, no pollution and good quality, grinding equipment can be used to make powder again. Nd-Fe-B materials were prepared. Nd-Fe-B magnet waste was treated by powder mixing and alloying to prepare new magnets. The recovery rate of Nd-Fe-B by powder mixing method is 60%, that by alloying method is 90%, and the magnetic properties of magnet reach the available standard.

Advantages and disadvantages of pyrometallurgical process for Nd-Fe-B waste treatment: pyrometallurgical process for Nd-Fe-B waste treatment is a metallurgical process of recovering alloy at high temperature according to the occurrence state of elements in materials, or by changing the chemical state of elements in materials with the help of redox reaction. Pyrotechnic process has the advantages of short process, friendly environment and high added value of products. However, compared with wet process, pyrotechnic process has small processing capacity, low recovery rate, high energy consumption, high recovery cost and high requirements for raw material quality. The above Nd-Fe-B waste treatment process used in the pyrometallurgical process to obtain grinding equipment can only be directly reused. The other two reduction methods do not require grinding equipment for processing.

In recent years, more work has been carried out in the treatment of Nd-Fe-B waste, mainly including room temperature selective oxidation leaching precipitation method, hydrogen explosion method, wet process, multi-layer carbon nanotube adsorption method, hollow fiber membrane method, ionic liquid recovery method, etc. It is understood that these processes do not need grinding equipment, among which the wet process will use crushing equipment to treat the neodymium iron boron waste to the powder below 500 microns.

In conclusion, it is obvious whether the Nd-Fe-B waste treatment process of rare earth permanent magnet materials can be used to obtain grinding equipment. The direct reuse of the pyrometallurgical process of Nd-Fe-B waste treatment needs Nd-Fe-B waste grinding mill equipment.
