High quality blast furnace slag has a glass transition rate of over 95%, and contains less than 0.5% coated iron. Therefore, its poor grindability requires extremely high wear resistance of equipment. Therefore, the selection of slag vertical mill is a particularly important issue. So, how to select the type of slag vertical mill? As a manufacturer of slag vertical mills, HCMilling(Guilin Hongcheng) will introduce the selection, comparison and analysis of slag grinding mill.
Due to the poor grindability of blast furnace slag and the large wear and tear on equipment, the treatment of blast furnace slag is a thorny issue. So, how to select the type of vertical mill? The grinding process of a vertical mill is completed by a set of grinding devices (i.e., grinding rollers and plates), where materials are ground into powder between the rollers and plates. The movement of the grinding device is driven by the rotation of the grinding disc and the corresponding drive of the grinding roller. In addition to the self weight of the grinding roller, the grinding pressure mainly relies on a set of hydraulic devices to pressurize the grinding disc material. There is a large amount of coarse powder in the milled material. The powder is selected by a matching powder concentrator. The powder selection process is through air flow separation. During the air flow process, most of the coarse powder automatically falls onto the grinding plate and is received for re grinding. The rest is selected as finished products by the powder concentrator and sent to the finished product storage warehouse through the dust collection and transportation system. The selection of slag vertical mill is mainly affected by the following factors:
(1) The working principle of vertical mills used for blast furnace slag grinding is mainly crushing and grinding, and the grinding of materials is accomplished through the relative movement of grinding discs and rollers.
(2) The performance (mainly physical performance) of the material to be ground directly affects the grinding efficiency of different vertical mills. The study of material properties is conducive to the selection of vertical mills.
(3) In addition to material characteristics, factors affecting the selection of vertical mills include production scale, power consumption, and wear. It should be comprehensively considered.
(4) In production practice, it is necessary to verify the grinding trajectory to adjust and optimize the operation under the conditions allowed by parameters to achieve maximum grinding efficiency.
From the above, it can be seen that the selection of slag vertical mill should consider many factors such as production line scale, material performance, grinding power consumption, and so on. The specific selection and comparison analysis of slag vertical mill are as follows:
(1) Production Line Scale: In principle, slag vertical mills are suitable for large-scale production lines. Vertical mills integrate drying and grinding, and have the characteristics of low consumption and high yield. Therefore, vertical mills of different specifications or manufacturers can be selected based on different production scales, but comprehensive price performance ratios must be considered
(2) Properties of grinding materials: The selection of vertical mills is influenced by the properties of the materials in two aspects: one is the grindability, which is the question of how much force is required and how much work is consumed; The second is how much wear the material causes to the equipment during the grinding process. This is reflected in the equipment as grinding power consumption and wear. Due to the different forms of vertical mills, the power consumption and wear of different mills using the same raw material will vary. The power consumption and wear of different materials on the same vertical mill must be determined through testing. Through research, it was found that the wear of vertical mills is directly related to the content of free silicon oxide (f-SiO2) in the material. The higher the content of w (f-SiO2) in the ground material, the greater the wear. The content of free silicon oxide in blast furnace slag reaches 5-8%, so its wear is much higher than that of raw material. When selecting a slag vertical mill, the guaranteed value of wear should be considered as an important factor.
In addition to rigorous numerical analysis, equipment price, scale of slag vertical mill manufacturer, and after-sales capacity are all factors that need to be considered in selecting slag vertical mill. As a slag grinding mill manufacturer with nearly 30 years of production experience, HCMilling(Guilin Hongcheng) has rich experience in selecting slag vertical mills.
