Raymond Mill Solutions to Common Breakdowns

Raymond Mill is very popular used in milling mine materials such as limestone, calcite, bauxite, marble, talc, graphite, kaolin, diabase, and so on. Many users have the same question, how to solve the common Breakdowns of Raymond grinding mill? This is Vera from HCmilling (Guilin Hongcheng) and I am glad to share the solutions with you.

 

Breakdown: No powder or less powder output

Causes:

·The failure of powder valve.

·The air locker is leaking or opening all the while.

·Pipeline valve in the air blower is turned down to small.

·Feeding excessively.

·The pipe network is too long or too bent, too much elbows, or the angle of the bend is too small;

·The grinding roller device is stuck.

·The heads of blade were worn too much.

·The raw material is in high moisture.

Solution:

·Check the powder valve and the air lock whether they are stuck or opening all the while, block off the leaky pipeline.

·Check the roller devices whether they are stuck, change the blades if they too worn to be used.

·Adjust the height of the pipeline, increase the angle of the bend,

·Feed evenly and make sure the moisture of the material is below 6%.

 

Breakdown: The powder is excessively coarse or fine

Causes: The speed of the analyzer has not been adjusted properly; or the wind volume is not properly.

Solution: Adjust the rotate speed of the analyzer and the volume of air volume.

 

Breakdown: The mill halts frequently, and in high temperature.

Causes: The feeding material is excess which rises the temperature of the Raymond grinding mill, while the electricity of fan declines, the hot wind can not be discharged since the waste wind pipe valve is closed.

Solution: Clean the accumulated powder from the return-air box and duct, and feed evenly. You will also need to check whether the adjustment of relay is lower than the motor rated current when the mill shuts down frequently.

 

Breakdown: The main engine sounds loud with vibration

Causes:

·Normally this because the deviation between the main engine reducer and the coupling has a larger deviation, and the anchor screw is loose, the unidirectional thrust bearing on main engine comes away from top and bottom when assembled.

·There’s no clearance in the centre of the coupling when installed, so the thrust bearing is headed away.   

·The raw material is too hard, or in powdery, or less feed.

·The mill base is not firmly.

Solution: you should find the center, keep the nonconcentricity of the two couplings within 0.30mm, adjust the clearance of coupling to about 5mm. If the material is powdered, reduce the Raymond bowl mill main engine speed to 110 - 120r/min; tighten the ground screws and fasteners.

 

Breakdown: Blower vibration

Cause:

·The anchor screws are loose.  

·Blade ash or blade wear unevenly .

Solution:

·Tighten the anchor bolts.

·Remove blade dust or replace blades.

 

Breakdown: Reduction gears and analyzer heating

Cause:

·The upper and lower bearings without clearance.

·The oil is in high viscosity, the upper bearing is short of oil; or too much oil leads to bad heat elimination.

·The air filter is untight when installed, the pipe joint is blocked without protection function which makes dust enters the oil pool beneath the millstone.

Solution:

·Adjust the bearing clearance in the range of 0.15 - 0.20mm.

·Check the viscosity of the oil to keep it in moderate.

 

Breakdown: Powders enter into the roller

Cause:

The main factor is that the upper and lower bearing clearance is larger, and the grinding rollers are easy to shake during working, which causes the sealing ring wearing and makes the powder enter the bearing, even worse, this accelerates the wear of the bearings and enlarges the bearing clearance.

The two nuts on the upper of the grinding roller are loose, which enlarges the upper and lower bearing clearance, makes powder enters, oil breakage and accelerates the wear of the bearing.

Solution: Adjust the bearing clearance, and lubricate and clean regularly before driving.
