Introduction

Activated carbon, or activated carbon black, is the black powder form, particle form, cellular form amorphous carbon, some are ordered crystal carbon. Besides of carbon element, activated carbon also includes two kinds of admixtures: one is chemical combinative element, majority oxygen and hydrogen, these elements residue in the carbon for Not completely carbonized, or combined other element during activated process, like water vapor activation; the other one is ash content, it is the inorganic part of activated carbon, and may cause secondary pollution of the carbon.

Applications

Activated carbon is widely applied in deep purification of domestic water, industrial water and waste water. It is also applied in gas adsorption of petrochemical industry, power plant, food and beverage, sugar refinery, medicine and fish farming. It can absorb the free chlorine, phenol, sulfur and other organic pollutant, especially THM. It can also be applied for workshop tail gas clean-up, solvent filtration, decoloration, purification, desulfuration, petrol catalytic reforming, gas separation, pressure swing adsorption, air drying, food fresh keeping, gas mask, solvent recovery, precious metal refining, catalyzer, etc.
