The purification method is generally dry purification. The first time is manual selection in the process of mining and drying, which can remove large impurities. Manual selection is generally carried out in the mining yard, and the waste rocks in the ore are selected manually. It can also be mined in sections and layers according to the technical index requirements of the application field, stacked separately and processed separately. The specific processing flow is as follows:
Raw ore→Drying → milling → air separation and grading → packaging
Drying is generally carried out in two stages. First, put the ore on the stockyard for natural drying to reduce the moisture of the raw ore from 40% to less than 25%. Then conduct coarse crushing, and the particle size of crushed products is 30 ~ 40mm. The crushed products are further dried, generally using air drying and fluidized drying. Its drying equipment mainly includes fluidization dryer, rotary shutter dryer, cyclone dryer, rotary dryer, etc The drying temperature is below 250 ℃, and the moisture content of the product is controlled to be less than 6% ~ 12%. Too high drying temperature or too long drying time will affect the product quality and even lose the gummy. Raymond mill is generally used for grinding, and the product fineness is determined according to the user's requirements, generally 100 ~ 325 mesh The final product is obtained after the grinded product is graded and desanded by cyclone classifier. The particle size of the finished product can be controlled by adjusting the speed of the analyzer of Raymond machine. Theoretically, the finer the particle size of bentonite, the more conducive to pellet production. However, the power consumption of fine grinding process will be large, and the output will be reduced and the cost will rise. Therefore, the particle size of soil for pelletizing is generally required to be 200 mesh (0.074mm), and the passing rate is more than 97%.
As bentonite for metallurgical pellets, calcium bentonite is generally the main bentonite. Most of the bentonite produced in nature is calcium bentonite. The performance of calcium bentonite is worse than that of sodium bentonite, so manufacturers often use artificial sodium method to modify calcium bentonite into sodium bentonite.

Wet method:The process is to prepare 10% bentonite slurry with water to fully hydrate the bentonite, then add surfactant in a certain proportion, react at a certain temperature for 3h, dry at 103-c, and then crush it. Without drying and crushing, this method can be directly used to prepare drilling fluid on site.
